FindLove Community Guidelines

Website: https://findlove.lk

FindLove is a place for adults to meet people with an interest in a meaningful relationship, including marriage. These Community Guidelines explain, in everyday language and with examples, what we expect from every member on the FindLove website and in the FindLove apps for Android and iOS.

The binding rules are in our Terms and Conditions, which every member accepts. These guidelines explain those rules; they do not add to them or replace them. If anything here appears to differ from the Terms, the Terms apply. Our Child Safety Standards and Privacy Policy sit alongside them.

FindLove has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. These rules apply to private messages as well as profiles and photographs.

01

Who operates FindLove

FindLove is currently operated by Mohamed Ziyan Junaideen, an individual based in Sri Lanka. Our contact email is legal@findlove.lk.

02

Be yourself, and be an adult

  • You must be 18 or older. People under 18 may not use FindLove in any way, even with a parent's permission.
  • Your profile must describe you. Only you may create, use, and send messages from your account. A parent, relative, friend, or matchmaker may not create or run a profile for you, and you may not create or run one for anyone else, even with their permission.
  • Keep to one account. Do not create another account to get around a block, a warning, or a ban.
  • Be honest about the things that matter to someone looking for a partner: your age, your marital status, whether you have children, your religion, your education, and your work. Saying you are single, divorced, or widowed when you are not is a serious breach.
  • Do not pretend to be someone else, including another member, a public figure, a celebrity, or a member of FindLove's team.
03

Photo rules

Photographs help people recognise who they are talking to. Every photograph on your profile must follow these rules:

  • It shows you. Your photographs should be reasonably recent and show your face clearly. You are welcome to edit them, including cropping, filters, beauty and retouching tools, changing or removing the background, and using AI to remove other people or objects. The test is simple: someone meeting you should recognise you from your photographs. Do not use photographs of other people, celebrities, or cartoons, or images of you created entirely by AI.
  • It is yours to share. Only upload photographs you took or have permission to use. Do not upload anyone else's photograph, or a screenshot of another member's profile or conversation.
  • Other people stay out of it. Avoid photographs in which other adults can be identified unless they have agreed. Do not post a photograph in which a child appears on their own, and never post a photograph of a child who is undressed, in swimwear, or in a bath.
  • No nudity or sexual content. No nudity, underwear or lingerie poses, sexual acts, or sexually suggestive images.
  • Nothing violent, hateful, or illegal. No graphic violence, weapons used to threaten, hate symbols, drugs, or anything else that breaks the law.
  • No contact details or advertising. Do not include phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, QR codes, website addresses, logos, or promotions in a photograph.

A person on our team reviews every profile photograph before other members can see it. Your own upload appears immediately as In review; approval still respects its audience and any conversation release. Review time varies; we do not promise a fixed turnaround. If rejected, the reason appears in your photo manager and an in-app alert. Rejected photographs stay hidden from other members and are scheduled for deletion after 30 days. You can remove them sooner or ask for review at legal@findlove.lk. See photo help.

We may remove a photograph that breaks these rules. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to a profile or account ban.

04

Respect and consent

  • Be courteous, even when you are not interested. A short, polite reply is always better than an insult.
  • If someone declines your interest, stops replying, or blocks you, accept it. Do not contact them again through another account, on another platform, or in person.
  • Do not harass, bully, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or humiliate anyone. Do not send repeated messages to someone who has not replied or has asked you to stop.
  • Do not pressure anyone to share personal details, photographs, or their phone number, to move the conversation elsewhere, or to meet.
  • Do not threaten violence, encourage self-harm, or celebrate violence against anyone.
05

No hate

Do not attack, demean, or threaten people because of their race, ethnicity, caste, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar characteristics. Hate symbols, slurs, and content that promotes hateful groups are not allowed.

FindLove lets you state sincere preferences about a partner, such as religion or community. Stating a preference is not hate. Expressing it in a way that insults or demeans people is.

06

Keep it non-sexual

FindLove is for building relationships, not for sexual content or sexual services.

  • Do not post or send sexually explicit material or nudity anywhere on FindLove, including in private messages, even if the other person asks for it.
  • Do not send unwanted sexual messages, comments, or requests.
  • Never share, or threaten to share, an intimate image of anyone without their consent, and never create or share a fake sexual image of a real person.
  • Do not offer, ask for, or arrange sex, sexual content, or companionship in exchange for money, gifts, accommodation, travel, or other benefits. This includes escort services, "sugar" arrangements, paid dating, and prostitution.
07

Protect children

FindLove has zero tolerance for the sexual abuse or exploitation of children. Do not share, request, or link to any sexual content involving a person under 18, groom a child, or contact a person under 18 for a romantic or sexual purpose. Anyone who does is permanently removed from FindLove, and we cooperate with the police. Our Child Safety Standards explain these rules, and how to report a concern, in detail.

08

No scams, money requests, or selling

  • Never ask a member for money, gifts, gift cards, cryptocurrency, loans, or help with a bill, visa, ticket, or emergency, and never offer an investment or a way to make money.
  • Do not ask for passwords, one-time codes, bank details, or identity documents.
  • Do not use FindLove to advertise, sell, or recruit for anything, including businesses, products, jobs, causes, or other websites or apps.
  • Do not send links designed to trick people, spread malware, or collect personal information.

If anyone asks you for money, stop replying and report them. Genuine partners do not ask for money.

09

Respect privacy

  • Do not share another member's messages, photographs, verification status, personal details, or sensitive information outside FindLove without their permission, except to report abuse or where the law requires it.
  • Do not screenshot, download, or forward private photographs a member has shared with you.
  • Do not use FindLove to find out where someone lives or works, or to collect information about members.
10

Use FindLove fairly

  • Do not use bots, scripts, or other automated tools, scrape profiles, or interfere with how FindLove works.
  • Do not submit forged, altered, or borrowed documents for verification.
  • Do not make reports you know are false, or use reporting to target someone.
  • Do not use FindLove for anything illegal.
11

Text checks

When you submit a message or member-visible profile text, including a photo caption, we check it against an administrator-maintained list of words and phrases. Matching text is refused before it is saved or sent. You will see goes against our Community Guidelines on the affected field. This is automated term matching, not AI moderation, and it cannot catch every breach. New terms do not rescan existing content. If a refusal seems mistaken, revise your text or email legal@findlove.lk. Reports and contact forms are not filtered, so you can explain what happened.

12

Block and report

You are in control of who can reach you.

  • Block a member from their profile on the website or in the app, or from a conversation in the app. Blocking takes effect immediately and works both ways: you stop seeing each other, any conversation between you closes to new messages, and pending friend requests are withdrawn. The other member is not told, and you can unblock them later.
  • Report a member from their profile or from a conversation, on the website or in the app. Choose the reason that fits best and add any details that will help us understand what happened. Reports are reviewed by a person on our team, not by an automated system. The member you report is never told who reported them.
  • Child safety concerns: use the Child safety reason, or email legal@findlove.lk. Please do not screenshot or forward images that may show a child.
  • Emaillegal@findlove.lk if you cannot use the in-app options or want to tell us about something else.

If you are in immediate danger, contact the police or emergency services first. A report to FindLove is not an emergency service.

13

What happens if guidelines are broken

When we find that a member has broken our Terms, we decide what to do based on how serious the breach is, whether it has happened before, and the risk to others. We may:

  • Take no action, if we find no breach.
  • Send an in-app warning.
  • Remove a photograph or individual message. A removed message is replaced with This message was removed in the conversation.
  • Ban a profile, which hides it from other members and stops it sending messages, friend requests, and interests.
  • Archive a profile, which removes it from other members and from your profile list while we keep its records.
  • Ban an account, which bans all its profiles, blocks sign-in, and signs it out of the website and app.
  • Delete an account and its data, and report the matter to the police or other authorities where the law requires it or a person may be at risk.

Our team can also remove an individual message or ban an account without waiting for a report.

For serious harm, such as threats, sexual exploitation, scams, or anything involving a child, we may ban an account straight away and without warning. When we warn a member or ban or archive a profile, the member receives an in-app alert giving the reason, but not who made the report. A banned account can no longer sign in, so its owner can email legal@findlove.lk to ask why.

If you think we have made a mistake, email legal@findlove.lk from the email address registered to your account and explain why. A person will look at it again. We may lift a ban or restore a profile if we agree, but we cannot promise a particular outcome or response time.

Changes to these guidelines

We review these guidelines as FindLove and the law change. Each version is published with its date at a permanent address, and this page always shows the current version.
