How visibility works
Your profile is built in sections, and you choose who sees each one. This guide explains who can find you, what each visibility setting means, and what every part of your profile shows by default.
Members only
Profiles are for signed-in FindLove members. You can pause yours whenever you like, and nobody can find you while it's paused.
You choose, section by section
Each photograph and each section of your profile has its own setting, from Public to Hidden.
Personal details stay personal
Social links and family background are only ever shown to friends you have accepted.
Who can see your profile at all
Before any section setting applies, someone has to be able to see your profile in the first place.
Signed-in members
Profiles are shown to people with a FindLove account who are signed in. Being able to see your profile doesn't mean seeing all of it: each section follows its own setting.
Only while your profile is active
Your profile appears to others once it is set up and active. Pause it and nobody can find you. Existing conversations stay open, and nothing is deleted.
People looking for the same thing
Members say whether they are marriage-minded, dating seriously, or open to either. When others browse, you only appear to people who chose the same intent as you.
Not to people you've restricted
Restricting a profile takes them out of your browsing and stops new interactions between you. You can remove a restriction at any time.
Every setting is one of five choices.
Photographs and profile sections use the same five choices, and each one means the same thing wherever you see it.
Each choice opens a section to one group. The groups don't stack: a section set to Matches is seen by your matches, not by friends you haven't matched with.
Every member who can see your profile
Anyone signed in to FindLove who can see your profile, whether or not they have verified their identity.
Members with a verified identity
Members whose identity check has been approved by our team. Good for details that help someone judge compatibility without identifying you.
People you've matched with
You match with someone when you have both expressed interest in each other. Nobody else sees a section set to Matches.
Friends you've accepted
People whose friend request you accepted, or who accepted yours. This is the most personal setting, and you can withdraw a friendship at any time.
What each part of your profile shows by default
You can change any of these while editing your profile. Your choice applies straight away.
Some things don't have a setting
A few parts of your profile follow fixed rules, so you don't have to think about them.
Only for friends you've accepted
- Your social links, such as Instagram, LinkedIn and your website.
- Your family background. If you hide your values and background section, your family background is hidden from friends too.
Shown to members who can see your profile
- The display name you choose. Leave it blank and you appear as "A verified member".
- Your age, height and district. Your date of birth itself isn't shown.
- The verification badges you have earned. The documents behind them never are.
Changing your mind
You always see everything
Your own profile is never hidden from you. The preview labels each section with who can see it.
Changes apply immediately
Change a setting and the next person who opens your profile sees the new version. Nothing is held back or applied later.
Withdraw friend access quietly
Remove a friend and anything you'd shared as Friends closes to them straight away. They aren't notified.
See your profile the way others do.
Your profile preview shows who can see each section, so you can check your settings at a glance.
